Milestones are worth celebrating. QUT celebrated 40 years of podiatry education on Sunday 18 March, 2018 at the Old Government House on the Gardens Point campus. A lot of things have changed in 40 years! The course was offered through QIT originally which changed to QUT in 1991 while Ainslie was a student. A few years later the Diploma course became a Bachelor degree. The QUT Alumni attending the celebrations could be divided into the ‘oldies’, who attended the Gardens Point Campus, and the ‘youngies’ who attended the Kelvin Grove campus where the Podiatry course is still taught. The warm afternoon was conducive to chatting and catching up with past graduates while sipping on iced mineral water. We also had a few formal speeches from current and past heads of discipline and heads of school and Faculty. Congratulations to the QUT team for 40 years of podiatry graduates and teaching a high work standard.
